Teaching
I adore teaching and love getting to talk to and learn from the students in my courses. I believe everyone comes into my classes with valuable knowledge, whether that knowledge comes from formal academic studies, work, hobbies, or everyday lived experiences.
I am strongly committed to constructing courses that center a variety of identities and experiences, particularly those which have historically been excluded from or marginalized within philosophy or academia more broadly.
The courses I teach are reading-intensive and heavily discussion-based. The topics tend to be relatable and interesting, and the texts we read are aimed at providing students with tools for thinking about their own lives beyond the course. But in order to have in-depth discussions about the ideas we're studying, students have to do a significant amount of reading prior to coming to class each day.
